The world has a problem, that’s no secret. The life of every human being can be understood as a search for the proper solution. We need to respect the fact that others have put some thought and effort into this conflict, but we also need to have the decency to tell them a Band-Aid is hardly adequate therapy for a hemorrhaging soul. Adam and Eve had one single rule put before them in the Garden. They were instructed to avoid just one particular tree. Unfortunately, they chose poorly and were evicted from God’s presence. That one simple Garden prohibition was then replaced by a wilderness of ever expanding laws and regulations to contain the fall out of our sinful desires. God, not wanting to make this salvation thing too complicated, once again offers us another simple orchard question. This time, however, the tree of interest is located on Calvary and the fruit that hangs from its branches is Jesus. The choice is yours, eat of His fruit and reenter the Garden of relationship, or spend a lonely eternity looking for love in all the wrong wilderness places.
