As parents we frequently direct our children’s activities to things that previously elicited feelings of awe and wonder in us when we were young. We become almost childlike ourselves as we expectantly wait to see the sparkle in their eyes when they see Disneyland or Sea World for the first time. Since God is our Father, His delight is no different. He gets just as excited when our eyes light up with wonder as we experience His creation. Maybe this childlike ability to joyfully perceive God’s mystery is one of the reasons that Jesus called us to be like little children. So I ask you, when God takes a peek through your eyes does He see a vibrantly colorful Oz or a black and white Kansas?
